  • Revelation 2:8-11| Why Do Christians Suffer? | Tim Lucas

    23/02/2025 Duration: 45min

Imagine following Jesus—and losing everything because of it. Your job, your friends, even your life. That’s exactly the type of hardship the Christians in ancient Smyrna faced. We learn about this in Revelation 2:8:11. In the Book of Revelation, Jesus dictated seven letters to the Apostle John when appearing to John in his prison cave on Patmos. Seven letters to seven early Christian Churches, and the second letter goes to the Church in Smyrna.Smyrna’s letter is designed to provide comfort and encouragement. Why? Because the Christ followers there were faithful, but they were suffering. Slandered, arrested, even killed for their faith. Can you imagine being persecuted for your faith in Jesus? But right in the middle of their darkest moment, Jesus speaks directly to them—and to us today—with three powerful truths.First: Don’t be afraid! Jesus reminds the church that He is “the First and the Last, who died and came to life again.” Translation? Your suffering doesn’t have the final word—Jesus does! You may feel

  • Revelation 2:1-7 | Love, Sex, and Politics | Tim Lucas

    14/02/2025 Duration: 46min

Imagine one day you receive a letter from Jesus and inside is your performance review. Can you imagine getting a report card from Jesus with details of what you’re doing well and what He’s concerned about?! Well, in the Book of Revelation we learn that Jesus dictated seven letters to the Apostle John when appearing to John in his prison cave on Patmos. Seven letters to seven early Christian Churches, and the first letter (aka performance review) goes to the Church in Ephesus, which we read in Revelation 2:1-7. Now Ephesus was the largest city in Asia Minor–it was rich, powerful, and filled with pagan idols. In Ephesus there are two temples that stand out: The Temple of Diana where people worshipped sex and the Temple of Domitian where people worshipped politics. Life was EXTREMELY HARD for the Ephesian Christians. On the one hand, they were tempted by sexual immorality and on the other pressured to worship political leaders. Here’s what’s crazy, 2,000 years later we are dealing with the same stuff! We are livi

Nowhere else is Jesus described in minute, physical detail the way He is in Revelation, chapter one. And here’s the truth, it’s probably not what you’re imagining!Jesus in Revelation isn’t the cute little baby in a Christmas cradle. Or the Good Shepherd holding a lamb. Or the bleeding Savior on a Cross. In the Gospels, we see Jesus in His humility. But in Revelation, we meet Jesus in His GLORY– holy and majestic, with eyes like blazing fire, feet like bro

  • How To Hear God’s Voice Through Prayer | Pray First Part 3

    19/01/2025 Duration: 34min

Do you feel like you're carrying the weight of the world, worrying about everything but praying about nothing? Scripture reminds us that to experience God’s peace and have less anxiety, we need more prayer—but what if prayer isn’t just talking? What if it’s about listening just as much as speaking? Often, our prayer lives are filled with requests, complaints, and noise, leaving little room for silence to hear God’s voice. What if instead of asking, “What are you praying for?” we started asking, “What are you listening for?” Your ability to hear God impacts your ability to respond. It’s more crucial than your career, education, or any plans you’ve made for the future. The greatest factor in your life isn’t your goals but your ability to hear and obey. Sometimes, hearing feels challenging—like silence when guidance is needed most. God’s voice comes through scripture, people, dreams, open doors, and even pain. Each method offers guidance, brings growth, and invites a deeper sense of purpose. Truly hearing re

  • Learn How To Pray To God | Pray First Part 2

    12/01/2025 Duration: 43min

Do you know why so many of us struggle with prayer? Because we’ve been told to do it but not taught how. The Bible offers a simple pattern for prayer that you can follow: Praise, Purify, and Present. Praise - Praise is thanking God for what He had already done in our lives. What blessings do you have? A good job? Healthy children? Food in the fridge? Starting prayer with praise shifts the focus from what we need to who God is. This week, before you ask for anything, thank God for past blessings. Purify - Then, we want to prepare our hearts for God. That means, asking God to reveal anything in our lives that needs to change—bad attitudes, habits, or hurts—and let God cleanse us. When you’re honest with God (and yourself), it draws you closer to Him. Present - The final step is bringing a gift to God. God asks us to offer ourselves as that gift —our thoughts, words, actions, and priorities. This means dedicating every part of our lives to Him, trusting Him with our jobs, families, and dreams. We present our nee

  • The Power of Prayer & Fasting

    06/01/2025 Duration: 40min

Are you ready to see a breakthrough in your spiritual life? Throughout the Bible, we see that prayer and fasting are powerful tools to help you grow in your walk with God. Prayer is communicating with God, and fasting is when you deny yourself something physical (like food or screen time) to focus on God. When you combine these two spiritual practices, there is supernatural power that is released in the spiritual realm!  Here are 5 key steps to consider for a season of prayer and fasting: DECIDE ON A FAST TO COMMIT TO FOR 21 DAYS: Choose your fast: Daniel Fast (fruits, nuts, & vegetables only), skip a meal, or a digital detox (reduce screen time). Commit to your fast for 21 days and watch God work! DEVOTE YOURSELF TO PRAY FIRST: Start your day by praying, ideally on your knees, as a posture of humility and surrender. Fasting without prayer is just a diet, so be sure to combine your fast with intentional prayer! DEFINE YOUR TARGET: What are you praying & fasting for? Be specific! Ask God for a

  • How To Make Peace | Christmas Eve

    24/12/2024 Duration: 40min

Are you looking to make peace with those around you? The Bible tells us that on the first Christmas, the angels proclaimed peace on Earth when Jesus was born (Luke 2). However, today’s world is filled with conflict, making peace seem impossible. While we can't always make peace in the world, we can make peace in our homes and relationships by following Jesus' example. Jesus shows us how to have peace with God and others, teaching us that being a true Christian means actively making peace, not just avoiding conflict. Here are five steps to making peace: Make the First Move: Don’t wait for others to fix things; take the initiative. Jesus teaches that reconciliation is more important than even worship  Start with What’s My Fault: Instead of blaming others, begin by acknowledging your own mistakes. This helps humble you and opens the door for peace. Confess My Blind Spots: We all have weaknesses we can’t see. Recognize and admit your own faults before pointing out others' faults. Wrap the Truth in Love:

  • Jesus Is The Prince of Peace | His Name Shall Be Part 4

    22/12/2024 Duration: 39min

Did you know that the presence of Christ promises peace in the midst of crisis? This week, we conclude our December series “His Name Shall Be” at Liquid Church by exploring the four names given to Jesus in Isaiah 9:6. One of those titles is Prince of Peace—or “Sar Shalom” in Hebrew. Jesus isn’t just a symbol of peace; He’s the ultimate authority over all peace, offering wholeness, harmony, and flourishing to every area of life, even in the face of pain, fear and challenges. Christians are not exempt from the storms of life, but we can have hope because Jesus is our prince of peace in the face of life’s storms. Jesus Gives Us Three Promises as The Prince of Peace:1) He reconciles us to God, canceling the power of sin and death.2) He will one day end all wars and global conflicts.3) He offers us well-being and flourishing forever. The Scripture from Isaiah 9:7 reminds us, "Of the increase of his government and of peace, there will be no end." So, whether you’re facing heartbreak, loneliness, or crisis this Chri

  • 4 Ways God Is The Perfect Father | His Name Shall Be Part 3

    15/12/2024 Duration: 29min

Our relationship with our fathers profoundly affects us. That’s why, when Jesus is revealed as another Father, our relationship with Him becomes even more personal. However, we often project our experiences with our earthly father onto our Everlasting Father, leading to misconceptions. So, what do we need to know about God the Father? Your Father is Present: The name Immanuel means "God with us." Jesus reassured His disciples of His constant presence through the Holy Spirit. God is omnipresent, meaning He is everywhere at all times. This truth is especially comforting during the holiday season when loneliness peaks. Even if your earthly father was absent, your Heavenly Father is always present, emotionally and physically. Your Father is Perfect: God's perfection means He is complete and makes no mistakes. Trusting in God's perfection helps us rely on His plans rather than our feelings. Life's challenges may make us feel off course, but God’s timing and plans are always perfect. This Christmas, trust not only

  • How God’s Mighty Power Can Transform Your Life | His Name Shall Be Part 2

    08/12/2024 Duration: 38min

Did you know we serve a Mighty God? His power is incredible and still relevant today. In the past, seas were parted, thousands were fed with a few loaves of bread, and even the dead were raised to life. But God’s power isn’t just seen in big miracles—it’s also in the small, everyday moments. Scientists have discovered a spark of light at the moment life begins, showing that life itself is a miracle, with each person created intentionally and with care. The most amazing display of this power is how God chose to become human. Jesus, who could command the universe, was born as a tiny, helpless baby, relying on Mary and Joseph for care. This act, called the incarnation, shows that true power is about serving others. Early Christians understood this, giving to those in need and trusting God to provide, even in tough times. God’s power isn’t just about fixing problems but being close to us in our struggles. When Lazarus died, Jesus didn’t just perform a miracle—he wept with the family. This shows that even in our

  • Find Healing and Hope In Jesus | His Name Shall Be Part 1

    01/12/2024 Duration: 39min

One of the most beautiful descriptions of Jesus is that He is our Wonderful Counselor. A counselor guides us with wisdom, helps us in our struggles, and leads us toward healing. Jesus does all that and more. He knows us better than anyone else—our pain, heartbreak, and even the things we try to hide. To experience true healing, we need to be brutally honest about our struggles. When we give God our weaknesses, He doesn’t just help us cope—God transforms them into something beautiful that brings glory. Sometimes, healing is messy. It might feel worse before it gets better. But if we trust Jesus and listen to His voice, He will guide us, even when His ways don’t make sense at first. He uses the hard parts of our story to show His power and love. Jesus came to step into our mess, not to condemn us but to bring healing and hope. This Christmas, invite Him into your life, trust His wisdom, and let Him turn your struggles into a testimony of His goodness. Watch this message from Pastor Kayra Montañez to experience

    22/11/2024 Duration: 36min

We want to give you a glimpse into what God is calling Liquid Church to do in 2025. Be encouraged: What we do today will matter in 100 years and for all of eternity. You can leave a legacy and our work begins today. As a church, we have four areas we want to focus on in 2025. The first is Bible Literacy. The church is prioritizing deepening Bible understanding across all age groups. The second area of focus is on the Next Generation. Liquid Church is investing in Gen Z and Gen Alpha through mentorship, scholarships for high school seniors, and programs tailored for their spiritual growth. This generational focus aims to shape minds with Scripture and equip youth to engage with faith in today’s culture. Our third initiative will be Church Expansion. Growth plans include launching Spanish services in key locations, supported by AI-translated sermons. The church is also pursuing permanent locations for its Somerset and Middlesex County Campuses. And, our fourth initiative is Global Outreach, specifically the

  • Why Should I Get Baptized?

    18/11/2024 Duration: 22min

Why should you get baptized? If you’ve given your life to Jesus, then baptism is the next step for you. Here’s why: Baptism is a powerful step that shows your life has been changed because of Jesus! Baptism is a public way of saying, “I believe in Jesus, and I’m committing my life to Him.”  Baptism is a symbol of the new life that Jesus gives us. When you go down into the water, it represents leaving behind your old ways, and when you come up, it shows you’re raised into a new life with Jesus. Through baptism, you’re also showing that you’re ready to receive the Holy Spirit—God’s Spirit who lives in us, helping us grow, giving us strength, and guiding us in faith. When you make the decision to be baptized, you’re choosing to open your heart to the power of the Holy Spirit, who will work in you and through you. If you’ve accepted Jesus but haven’t been baptized yet, consider taking this step!.  Watch Pastor Kayra Montañez’s message on this important step in a Christian’s life. #Baptism #GetBaptized #LiquidCh

  • What Does The Bible Say About Witchcraft And Black Magic? | Adventures With Paul Part 5

    11/11/2024 Duration: 43min

When the Apostle Paul visited Ephesus, he found a city filled with idols, statues, and altars to pagan gods on every corner. Ephesus was notorious for black magic and the occult. They practiced witchcraft and sorcery. They had scrolls full of spells, incantations, and magic curses. The Bible FORBIDS all of this!  You should know that if you’re a follower of Jesus Christ, you shouldn’t have anything to do with this stuff. It’s not innocent. It’s not a hobby. It’s not fun – it’s literally opening a door to the demonic. Tarot cards, Wiccan candles, herbs, astrology, mediums and psychics – even dabbling with these offers the devil a foothold in your life, because satan is extremely powerful. So, learn a lesson from the Ephesians. When they learned the truth of Jesus and saw the Holy Spirit at work, they abandoned their witchcraft and black magic.  So, here’s a question to consider – what are your modern day idols and strongholds? When you’re in tune with the Holy Spirit, sometimes God will speak to you about ever

  • 4 Steps To Sharing Your Faith With People Who Disagree With You

    04/11/2024 Duration: 46min

If you believe in Jesus, most likely there’s someone in your life (that you love) that doesn't believe in Jesus. Maybe they walked away from God or never had a relationship with Him in the first place. And you’re praying that will change.  So, how do you share your faith with people who disagree with you? How do you share your faith with people who you know are going to be hard to convince? #1) Build a bridge to others. You may be walking into a tough conversation, but the goal isn’t to argue or debate or to win an argument. The goal is to win someone’s heart and soul for Christ!  #2) Affirm their spiritual curiosity – even if it’s misguided. Be loving. Be engaging. Remember, they may be far from God, but God put them close to you and you need to keep the lines of communication open. #3) Connect Christ to the culture. We watch the Apostle Paul do this in the Bible. His philosophy was: “I become all things to all men that I might by all means, save some!”  #4) Ultimately, obedience is our responsibility, but t

  • Use Faith To Fight Spiritual Warfare | The Adventures of Paul Part 3

    28/10/2024 Duration: 43min

Have you ever felt like you have had strong pushback in your spiritual life? When we choose to follow Jesus, we’ll sometimes face resistance—often called “spiritual warfare.” This resistance can show up as doubts, distractions, or even a strong temptation to give up. The enemy (yes, Satan is real), doesn’t want us to live for God, so he’ll sometimes try to discourage us in subtle ways, making us question our purpose or feel alone in our journey. Many people turn to things like horoscopes or fortune-telling to feel secure, but these only create more confusion. Real peace and wisdom comes from God, who has already given us strength through His Spirit. Jesus reminds us that we aren’t alone in these struggles—He is with us, helping us to stay focused and secure. Through prayer, worship, or simply asking for strength, we can feel His peace come into our lives.  While we might still experience struggles, we can have confidence that Jesus has already overcome the forces of darkness. • God Has A Plan For Your Life | The Adventures of Paul Part 2

    21/10/2024 Duration: 42min

Did you know that God both opens doors and closes them? We need to learn to trust in God and that means accepting when He says “no,” just as much as accepting when He says “yes.” Both answers are a part of God’s bigger plan for our lives. If we believe that God guides our STEPS, then we also must believe He guides our STOPS. Think about it… God may block your path, maybe you won't get the job or the girl or the house you prayed for because God is actually leading you to a greater purpose.  This is what happens to the Apostle Paul. On his second missionary journey (Acts 16-19 in the Bible), Paul wanted to revisit churches in the north, but God stopped him—twice! This was a big moment because, until then, Christianity was mostly for Jews in places like Jerusalem and Turkey. But God had a greater purpose—He gave Paul a vision to go to Macedonia (in Greece), which opened the door for the Gospel to spread to Europe and the Gentiles. This enabled the further spread of Christianity! God has a plan for Paul that star

  • Grace Changes Everything | The Adventures of Paul Part 1

    13/10/2024 Duration: 43min

Have you ever felt like your past mistakes or choices hold you back? The story of Saul, who became Paul, shows us that no one is too far gone for God’s love and grace. Saul was a man who actively hunted down Christians, determined to stop the spread of their faith. He seemed like an unlikely candidate for change. But everything changed for Saul on the road to Damascus when he encountered the risen Christ. This powerful moment reminds us that God can reach anyone, no matter how far they’ve strayed. Saul’s life was transformed, and he became one of the greatest messengers of God’s love. This story teaches us that God sees potential in everyone, even in those who seem lost or broken. Our past does not define us. It’s God’s grace that gives us a fresh start and a new purpose. Just like Saul, we can experience renewal and become instruments of hope and healing in a world that desperately needs it. As we reflect on this powerful transformation, let’s remember that change is possible for anyone who opens their heart
