Jesus’ parable of the wedding banquet shows us that the Kingdom of Heaven is an invitation to a feast we could never earn, but are freely invited to because of His love. The question is, will we reject it, fake it, or truly accept it and come dressed in the righteousness Christ has provided? Jesus tells two short, parallel parables driving home the value of his kingdom. With each story he invites us to reflect on how valuable God's kingdom is, and what our response will be if we see the kingdom rightly. SCRIPTURE READING: Matthew 13:44–46

After 45 years, the faithful spy Caleb returns to claim his inheritance while Joshua allots the land to the Israelites. But instead of looking to retire in comfort, Caleb asks for a fight because his faith is in the promises and victory of the Lord. His bold faith inspires all believers to a vision focused on the character of the Lord. In Psalm 96 we see God's joyful and passionate commitment to the world and we're reminded that Gospel is not for us alone, but for people from every nation.
