At the junction of three states (Wisconsin, Illinois, and Iowa), Dubuque has an impressive collection of firsts being the first city founded in Iowa. It is also in the midst of a period of renovation and growth. Much of that growth is in the Port Authority in a curve of the Mississippi River.
