Today is Almanzo and Laura Ingalls Wilder's wedding anniversary. In honor of that we're having a special Laura Ingalls Wilder basic questions episode. We'll do another special episode so be sure to ask questions for the next one.

This is the last day of my Walnut Grove trip. I visit the dugout site and get two nasty surprises. Then I have a happy surprise at the museum. Finally, I drive home and talk about videos you can look for. 

This is the second day of my trip. I hit several places I hadn't made yesterday. I do my In the Kitchen With Laura (Pioneer Version) and check out the rest of the Family Festival. I visit the Wheels Across the Prairie Museum in Tracy, Minnesota. Then I end the night with "Fragments of a Dream" the Walnut Grove pageant.

The return of my live reports from a Laura trip. These were recorded live, but live none the less. I drive up to Walnut Grove, learn about changes around the Laura Ingalls Wilder Museum, and end up in Marshall, Minnesota.

July is about the biggest month in Laura Ingalls Wilder fandom. There are lots of homesite events and it's the heart of summer vacation season. I recently took a trip with my friend Kelly Pezel down to Chariton County, Missouri to visit the place where the Ingalls family bought land near the town of Rothville. Every year I do some reading in honor of World Read Aloud Day. It's every March 2nd in honor of Dr. Seuss' birthday. Sometimes I do something Laura specific, but lately I've been doing Mother West Wind's Children by Thorton W. Burgess. For awhile I was doing short episodes as I tested various microphones, but today's is going to be my standard equipment. Learn more about Burgess and find a list of links to the other stories. What happened in Laura Ingalls Wilder fandom during 2021? There were fewer things cancelled than in 2021, but some things were changed how they were set up. Some things were canceled. For example, Pepin Days in Laura was scheduled, canceled, and re-scheduled over the course of the year. I hope in the coming year there will be a lot more Laura events. Wendi Lou Lee joins host Sarah Uthoff to talk about her experiences being involved with the "Little House on the Prairie" NBC TV show. Lee was one of a set of twins who played Baby Grace. The real life Grace was, of course, awesomesauce because she was born in Iowa and attended a normal school. So we're looking forward to hearing Lee's take on the TV show. Lee has also written A Prairie Devotional. She'll share with us about all of it. 

Karen Grassle joins host Sarah Uthoff to talk about her new memoir, Bright Lights, Prairie Dust. Grassle, of course, played Laura Ingalls Wilder's Ma on the 1970s NBC series, We're going to talk about her experience on "Little House." We'll dig into what it was like to film the series. Then we'll discuss her life beyond as a theater actress and a woman's right advocate. You're going to want a copy of her new book. All the different Laura Ingalls Wilder De Smet, South Dakota sites have worked together to put an event to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Laura Ingalls Wilder pageant. It's going to be spread out over 3 weekends with all kinds of events. This is an overview of the highlights, a little later than it should have been, but I hope will tell you what's going on and prep you for my roving reports for the event.

This summer I made my second visit to the Homestead Nationa Park Service unit. It's the Homestead National Historic Park. This park commermorates the Homestead Act from the very first homestead to the last. Get a report on what you can see and do in Beatrice, NE.
