In this passage, we see that God's judgment stems out of His mercy and love for his people. God's great and tough love invites us to humbly approach Him, trusting that His love will endure despite our unworthiness.

In today's passage, we see God's heart for His people to uphold their needs and to direct them toward compassion and righteousness.

In light of a holy God and His hatred of sin, let us view our own sins rightly, even those done subtly, and let it provoke us to righteousness.

As we begin a new series on the book of Amos, we glorify the power of a mighty God Who controls the creation in which we live, and Who cares about what we do and how we live.

Jesus is worthy of our continued praise because He hears our prayers, atones our sins, and dwells with us.

Jesus came in the flesh to reveal to us who God is and how His grace abounds.

During this Advent we are reminded that Jesus was born to live and die, to satisfy the payment for our sin as our High Priest before God.

We look at the birth and early life of Christ as being remarkably unremarkable - proclaimed by angels and prophets, yet quietly and humbly lived by the very Messiah Who came to redeem sinners while still caring enough to be concerned with the minutiae of our lives.

We consider Jesus, the Word, Who was present at Creation, and Whose prescence endures, bringing Light into the darkness of a broken world.
