Matt is an American, but now Sydney-based Anaesthetist who first became interested in the spike in opioid abuse when Michael Jackson was brought in to his hospital in Los Angles after a fatal drug overdose. His curiosity around the subject  led him to discover the origins of the Opioid Epidemic and the important role played by health professionals and the pharmaceutical industry. Dush talks to Matt about the extent of the problem today, and how junior doctors can become more responsible prescribers of opioids.
