Uncle Dan And Friends

In part 4 of our adventure, the City of Beechwood quickly figures out what happened with the trainload of baked beans, and they mobilize everything at their disposal.  The Beechwood Police Department moves swiftly to lure Hearl into a trap.  In the meantime, William tries to convince Charmane to go out on a date with Hearl, but unfortunately the meeting is cut short because Hearl is hungry yet again.  But, the trap backfires (literally) on the citizens of Beechwood as the baked beans, hamburgers, and everything else combines to make the ending quite possibly the single most disgusting podcast in history.

William's enemies decide once and for all how to deal with the fact that William is still searching for his moped.  Meanwhile, our hero gets hungry and figures that, since he likes mushrooms on his pizza, that he will enjoy the mushrooms he finds on the ground-leading to an unforgettable experience for poor William.  Because of this though, he meets a potential ally that could be very helpful, as log as William helps his new gigantic friend win the love of his life.  And, in the end, something happens that may have disasterous implications for the future!

Things go from bad to worse for our poor little hapless hero.  Not only is his moped gone, but now all of the townsfolk of Beechwood want him to pay the ultimate price for the incident with Louie.  It was not only the topic of conversation on the local radio station, but also for the local preacher who gave a very unsettling sermon.  Finally, William, out of desperation reaches out to a certain "psychic" who may not be who he seems.  And, at the end of the episode there is a revelation.

At long last we begin the story of William.  Starting out simply as the story of a boy and his moped, but there is so much more to be uncovered through this tale.  All poor William wants is to be able to ride his moped in peace and be happy.  But, his happiness is short lived, as a flat tire leads our poor hero into ever increasing danger and insanity.  What trials and tribulations are in store for our hapless friend?  

Well, in this episode we finally wrap up "Where Have You Gone Andrew Rogers?" and now the title finally makes sense.  Also, will we ever know what happened in his brief stint in the Army?  Will Andy ever be found?   Also, next up will be an edited version of the entire 4 episode Andy saga.  Then, in the coming weeks, "WILLIAM" will debut!  Follow @uncledanpodcast on Twitter and don't forget to email uncledanpodcast@gmail.com.  

In part 3 of our saga "Where Have You Gone Andrew Rogers?"  we finally learn how andy has been paying the rent.  Also, this part of the story also involves a confession from the author about his political views.  Plus, we learn a valuable lesson that Stroh's beer and dried Ceyanne peppers are not complimentary dishes.   After the story we are also given a preview of "William" the audio drama/comedy/adventure/whatever that will be coming in January.  It all began as a comic strip created in response to repeated antagonism by a classmate in high school.  It started there, then became a rock musical, and a short lived web comic (all of which none of you have heard nor seen).  Don't forget to follow @uncledanpodcast on Twitter and suggest name change ideas for the show.

In the second part of "Where Have You Gone Andrew Rogers?," we find Brent and Dan needing a new place to live, and one of our questions from last week is answered (the answer is not a surprise to anyone involved).  Also, the Fried Piper causes even more resentment due to an on-air prank that nobody else found particularly funny. Plus, it is stories like this and the one coming up in 2015 that will be the majority of this podcast.  Why do I need to do a regular talk show?  Most given weeknights you hear me on a talk show!  If you want to know my opinions, find me there.

It's storytime on "Uncle Dan and Friends" as I try something new.  I'm guessing this will take four or five parts to complete.  Andrew Rogers was (is?) a real person and the content of the story is mostly accurate based on my recollection.  Be sure to follow along for the entire contunuing story, which would be a....drama?  Epic? Fable? Saga?  What other word could be used to describe a continuing series in podcast form?

Uncle Dan's buddy Carol drops in via skype to chat about life in Cincinnati, and her world travels.  She and Dan discuss everything from video games to why Jimmy Fallon is Carol's dream date!  And, the sad, yet obligatory Bill Cosby reference. Plus, there is an imposter Twitter account that must be stopped at all costs!  Make sure you are following @uncledanpodcast and not that "creepy" imposter.  Dan and Carol also make tentative plans to see "Interstellar" and then chat about it-stealing the premise of another well known podcast.

For the beginning of "Uncle Dan and Friends," Dan first attempts to explain why this podcast even exists, since many of you are probably sick to death of hearing him anyway.  Plus, for those who are not in the know (pretty much all of you), Dan enlists some help in telling the famed story of the long lost podcast from 2005, Radio WC.  Finally, Dan talks to his other favorite British Columbian, Nicole Petrie, about the rare thing they share-and how it got Dan arrested back in 1989.  And from the sound of it, the commute between Vancouver and Revelstoke is probably simpler and less painful than the trip from Vancouver to Nanaimo.  In the coming days we will work on getting a better way to record Skype calls, and also to remember the Twitter address @uncledanpodcast.
