To celebrate the Wintereenmas Xmas festival times Ben and George provide commentaries for two Christmas episodes from the DC animated universe. First up is Batman Animated Series episode "Christmas With the Joker" followed by Justice League Season 2 Episode 23 (George mistakenly calls it ep 21) "Comfort & Joy".

George and Ben delve into the world of licensed comics: History. Marvel's diverse range of licenses. Incorporating licenses into continuity. Dark Horse. RoboCop, Terminator, Predator & Alien. So many shitty licensed books in the '90s. Buffy Season 8. Ben talks about Joss Whedon as though they're close personal friends. Current boom. Recommendations.

Ben and George are joined by Jean and Gregg to talk about stories that exist outside of regular continuity, specifically focusing on DC's Elseworlds and Marvel's What If? books. They have detailed discussions about Kingdom Come, Earth X, Red Son, Secret Identity, Just Imagine, Gotham by Gaslight and Trouble, as well as mentioning many more non-canon books. Apologies for the long wait (we recorded this episode at the end of January) technical difficulties (I've cleaned the sound up as much as I could) and personal stuff both got in the way of getting this one up.

George and Ben gather around an open fire, roasting chestnuts and drinking eggnog. While they're at it they give any of you last minute Christmas shoppers some present tips for the comics fan. They also do a brief review of 2014s highs and lows, from new books to crossovers and even the best comic-book films of the year. Then they wrap it all up with some announcements about what's coming up in 2015 for the society.

Ben and George are joined by Comic Soc's unofficial Social Secretary, Thomas Glynn, to talk about all things television. We start with the current spate of live-action TV shows (and Thom splurges over Arrow), then move on to some of our favourite older TV shows based on comics. We talk about how great every animated thing DC have done since the '90s has been awesome then go through our top-ten comic-related TV show theme songs, before wrapping up with some upcoming Society happenings.

In the first episode of the newly resurrected Comic Soc Cast Ben and George (Society President) talk about plans for the society and the podcast, as well as introducing listeners to their president with a brief chat about George’s history as it relates to comics. Then Ben introduces Treasurer, Sammi, for a brief chat about some of her favourite comics. Unfortunately Society Secretary, Miranda, was unavailable to appear on this episode, but she will be on an an episode coming soon, we promise! It’s been a while and we’re all a little rusty so the conversation may be a little awkward on this first episode, but we’ll soon get right back into the swing of things. In the same vein the audio in this episode is of a slightly lower quality than we’d like, this should be fixed by #2.

Ben and George talk you through everything you need to know about the weird and wonderful British science-fiction anthology comic, 2000 AD. They'll talk you through its origin, explain some of its biggest series (with the exception of Judge Dredd who will be getting his very own episode shortly) and discuss notable writers and artists who've risen through the ranks of 2000 AD. All that and an update on what's happening in Comic Soc in the next few weeks.
