Locally Sourced Tulsa Comedy

Today I'm sitting down with the fantastic Mike Baldwin. He is a comedian out of Kansas City that performs all over the U.S.  I met him last year at Blue Whale Comedy Festival and immediately liked him. He was in town last week at the Loony Bin and we got to hang out for a bit.  It was awesome getting to talk shop with him and I learned a lot. Today, I have the honor to hangout with local Improv master, Jeff Brown. You have seen him at The Comedy Parlor doing makemups with Crayons, Comfort Creatures, and Blue Dome Social Club.  We talk about how he got started in Improv, the fear of being almost racist, and general pretentious comedy talk!  It was a great time, Jeff is a wonderful human and should be loved by all.

On today's episode I sat down with local musician and cool dude, John Paul Ratliff. We had a great chat about mooses, not commiting suicide, early influences, and of course, music. He plays in "We Make Shapes" and "Damion Shade and The Savage Young." He also hosts the Yeti Writers Night open mic, every Tuesday. We talk about government, spirituality, Tulsa, and of course, music. He was a great guest and a lot of fun to talk too. On this episode I got to talk with the funny Katie Van Patten. I had a great time hanging out with her. We've been doing comedy for about the same amount of time now and she is one of the newer comedians that seems to be taking it seriously. Well, as serious as you can take doing comedy. I tried to do something new this go around and do all the opening stuff with the guest. Only some of it got recorded, there was a weird error in the audio. So it is kind of a cold opening! He is gaining quick popularity in Chiptune and convention communities.  He talks about his history in music and how he got into Chiptune. Today I sit down with Michael C Hall from OKC. The first OKC comic on the show! I'm excited to break into that crowd. I had a great time talking to Jackson about The News Junkie and how he got started in all of this silly business.
