Episodes

  • The Whovian Review #301- Warriors of the Deep

    05/12/2025 Duration: 38min

Warren, Jon, and Michael take a look at the first story from Season 21. The Myrka gets karate chopped in the most hilarious way, but what did we really think about this 5th Doctor story? Does the base under siege story hold up, or does it sink beneath the myrky waters?

  • The Whovian Review #300- The Macra Terror

    18/11/2025 Duration: 37min

Warren and Michael take a look at this Patrick Troughton classic from Season 4. Ben, Polly, Jamie, and the Doctor all go to a very happy world where everyone loves working, and entertaining the general population, but all may not be as happy as one might think.

  • The Whovian Review #299- The Moonbase

    31/10/2025 Duration: 35min

Warren and Michael take a look at this classic story DVD with animated episodes 1 and 3. The animation is stellar, atmospheric, and rather close to the feel of the original episodes! But how does the story hold up with us? A solid classic, a masterpiece, or a dud? Is the Doctor a little demanding? Does Jamie have much to do here? Do the Cybermen enjoy sugar?

  • The Whovian Review #298- The Underwater Menace

    03/10/2025 Duration: 34min

Like the story, the production values for this audio are a little lower than usual due to a change in computer at the time of recording. Turn up your volume to hear John, Warren, and Michael discuss this classic Patrick Troughton story! We will be bringing you some more Patrick Troughton stories as we watch them!

  • The Whovian Review #297- Logopolis

    23/09/2025 Duration: 39min

This podcast was recorded last November, but we decided to wait until all of the other Tom Baker stories were released before posting his final story. The swan song that most had an emotional response to due to the man himself, Tom Baker, left the role, and turned it over to Peter Davison! This was such a fun episode to edit and talk about. The Watcher, The Master, Adric, Tegan Jovanka, the return of Nyssa, radio towers, planets full of mathematicians, logic, materializing the TARDIS underwater, and so much more chaos and fun kept us wondering what would happen next. Enjoy!

  • The Whovian Review #296- Shada

    16/09/2025 Duration: 44min

Shada, the one never completed Classic Doctor Who story is our topic today! This story has been told, retold, reedited, animated, released on audio with different Doctors, and has had two K9 actors take on Douglas Adam's curious script. We watch the most recent version included on the Season 17 Bluray release. Warren, Jeremy, and unsurprisingly Michael are on this one again.

  • The Whovian Review #295- Revenge of the Cybermen

    09/09/2025 Duration: 32min

Warren, Jeremy, and Michael try to count down the rankings for this particular story that made us laugh, and gave us some joy to watch thanks to Tom Baker being there to begin with. As the first ever VHS release for this show, was this a worthy story to be number 1? Harry Sullivan is an imbecile, Sarah Jane attracts Cybermats, and gold seems to be the scariest part of this story (for Cybermen).

  • The Whovian Review #294- The Reality War

    05/09/2025 Duration: 53min

Thank you to Hayden Powell for posting your gorgeous music to Youtube. He created it masterfully. Anywho, the gang dives into the crazy and zany Series 15/2 finale. Tears, joy, chaos, missed opportunities, last minute changes, and Billie?! We discuss all of the points, and dissect this story from start to finish. The most intense edit I've had to do in a while, but totally worth it.

  • The Whovian Review #293- Wish World

    15/08/2025 Duration: 57min

The Rani finds the seventh son of the seventh son of the seventh son who turns out to be a wishing child. Conrad wishes a whole world where the roles of everyone in the Whoniverse have changed drastically, and the Doctor and Belinda have a child, Poppy!? The Rani, er the Master like Rani, has huge plans to bring back someone else from the Doctor's past, but in the meantime we need to tackle the review of this first part to the finale of Season 2 or as many know it, season 15.

  • The Whovian Review #292- The Interstellar Song Contest

    05/08/2025 Duration: 41min

Dugga Doo everyone! We sing our praises or dissent on this lavish episode with reveals, action, harmony, and little pink alien creatures singing one of the weirdest and most catchy cute songs of 2025. Will we be won over by this episode, or will these vocals land on flat ears? Listen to our music as we provide a walk through the Interstellar Song Contest.

  • The Whovian Review #291- The Story and the Engine

    29/07/2025 Duration: 53min

We dive into this tale of the Doctor dropping in at a local barber's shop in Nigeria. Being forced into the chair to tell stories, the Doctor doesn't realize he is generating fuel for the barbershop which exists in an alternate plane of existence, and needs stories in order to generate movement. Lets see how the actual author's of the group react to this story. (Shelby and Jeremy the Elder).

  • The Whovian Review #290- Lucky Day

    22/07/2025 Duration: 38min

Colin, Shelby, and Michael tackle this Doctor lite episode which is the fourth in Disney's Season 2. Ruby Sunday returns for another outing as she works for UNIT and meets Conrad, a podcasting hottie, who turns her head and heart towards someone who appears kind like the Doctor. Music clips are here thanks to Brambles & Stars. Find his beautiful recreations on YouTube!

  • The Whovian Review #289- The Well

    15/07/2025 Duration: 42min

Jeremy, Lou, and Michael all discuss this sequel episode in stereo! Will we appreciate the story? Will the science hold up? And will the Doctor's tears be warranted? These topics and more are discussed over this creepy and stylistic episode. Just don't go behind someone if they are sitting still in the middle of what seems like and empty room!

  • The Whovian Review #288- Lux

    26/06/2025 Duration: 46min

We dive into the second episode of Season 2/15. A cartoon comes to life and terrorizes Floridians in the 1950's. After everyone in the theater disappears it is up to The Doctor and Belinda to save the day after The Doctor becomes interested in a locked cinema. Its unlikely that the companions are ready for what they will find in the theater once they have broken in. All of us are back together for this story.

  • The Whovian Review #286- The Sontaran Experiment

    03/06/2025 Duration: 24min

Warren and Michael reach back in the vaults of 1975 and check out the 2 part Tom Baker story. Warren is a new podcaster who will join in on classic reviews moving forward, while the rest of the gang will be helping out with the newer series. • The Whovian Review # 287- The Robot Revolution

    03/06/2025 Duration: 01h03min

The gang is back and tackling this opening episode to the second Disney Season. How does it fare compared to Space Babies, or The Eleventh Hour? Does this hold up as an opening episode? And how do we enjoy Belinda Chandra? Does the 15th Doctor cry or do we notice? And what about the overall look of this episode? We discuss all of these points and more!

Colin, Shelby, Jeremy, and Michael dive into the final outing with Sarah Jane Smith! We give our take on Eldrad, and he must live, er, uh, She must live! Elizabeth Sladen gives a tearful performance, and the Doctor shoves off back to Gallifrey in the end. But did we like the story???

  • The Whovian Review #283- The Masque of Mandragora

    28/12/2024 Duration: 29min

A semi-historical Fourth Doctor and Sarah Jane Smith story that involves the Madragora Helix, cultish characters, and ancient royalty. Sword fights, horse chases, and a very long scarf endure. Join us as we rate another 4th Doctor tale!

  • The Whovian Review #282- The Seeds of Doom

    29/11/2024 Duration: 46min

When autotrophs attack, no one is safe! Monsters from the dawn of time and plants that scream in what can only loosely be described as a melody, an Antarctic research station and an insane millionaire: this story has it all.
