Fantasy thinking creates pain. Here is how I stop daydreaming and appreciate this moment as it is.

Synopsis

Fantasy thinking ultimately creates pain and suffering in the moment. It has taken me nearly my entire life to learn this lesson. Most of my life I would ignore the good around me because I wanted more. For example, while I was still in school I would always want to date the "hottest" girls. Now there were multiple problems with this fantasy. For one, I was using my skewed teenage perception of beauty, at the time, to determine whether or not girls were attractive. Two, I didn't stop to think whether or not we would actually get along. Last but most important, fantasizing about girls would cause me to look over the ones that were actually interested in me. So, instead of daydreaming about what could be, take the time to appreciate what you already have in the moment. Thank you for taking the time to be here with me, and I appreciate your feedback! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jerrybanfield/support
