"Yes, but" is a dangerous phrase I stay away from using today

Synopsis

How many times have you used the phrase "yes, but?" In the past, I used this phrase very often. Whenever someone would try and give me good advice, I would often say yes, but. Today, I avoid using this phrase because it often causes me to ignore things that I know are right in my heart. For example, when I was first trying to lose weight, people would tell me to eat healthier. My response would often be yes, but I don't like the taste of healthy food, or healthier foods are too expensive. This was an example of my mind using a small and incomplete idea to prevent me from facing reality. I would often take a similar approach when people would tell me that I should consume less alcohol. Today, I pray that I can listen to my heart and those around me who want to see me succeed. Thank you for taking the time to be here with me, and I appreciate your feedback! --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/jerrybanfield/support
