That summer it was the #1 single in both countries along with several more including Austria, Ireland, West Germany, the Netherlands, Norway and South Africa. It was The Stones first #1 in the US and it stayed at the top for a full month that summer. It would go on to be ranked by Rolling Stone as the second greatest song of all time behind Bob Dylan's "Like A Rolling Stone".
