During his reign King David was given a revelation of the importance of the role of gatekeepers in the Lords temple, to the point where he appointed 4000 Levite gatekeepers during his reign alongside another 4000 worshippers. In Psalm 24 David called to his generation to cleans themselves in order that they might ascend the hill of the Lord and become gates through which God, the King of Glory, would enter. Part of our calling and mandate as believers in our generation is also to act as gatekeepers. We are a royal priesthood of gatekeepers over our own lives, hearts and families as well as over the earth. As gatekeepers there are many different kinds of gates that the Lord has given us keys for. He has given us keys to unlock prison doors of injustice and unforgiveness in hearts and lives. He has also given us corporate keys to open up gates over nations and regions so that we can usher in the King of Glory over our generation.
