Taranaki Regional Council's Director of Operations Stephen Hall joins Graeme Hill to discuss the ground-breaking advancement. The next few years will target possums, stotes and rats with the aim of working towards a predator free Taranaki, Mr Hall explains. Taranaki is about 700,000 hectares. There are some real gems in terms of indigenous biodiversity remnants By the end of the decade, the programme should be finished, and there will be over 30,000 hectares of native vegetation created. Across significant chunks of Taranakis landscape lie existing programmes to build on. The first five years of the programme will cost about $47 million.
