On the first episode of 2020 for The Tatiana Show, we learn some real history from our guest Kevin Gutzman. He is a New York Times best-selling author of five books including The Politically Incorrect Guide to the Constitution and his most recent, Thomas Jefferson- Revolutionary: A Radical’s Struggle to Remake America. Professor Gutzman teaches history at Western Connecticut State University and at former guest Tom Woods’ Liberty Classroom. With the current impeachment of Donald Trump by the House, Dr. Gutzman provides some historical context of the process and what are the correct reasons to impeach under the U.S. constitution.  We discuss the origins of impeachment developed in the English House of Commons as a check on the king’s power and the professor provides some examples in history when the process was used such as against Thomas Wentworth, Earl of Strafford during 17th.
