Synopsis

As promised, I have re-edited this episode to cut it down to a reasonable time and actually add the intro and outro. This interview is one of the first conversations I wanted to have when Tyler 2040 was first conceived. In 2013, my hometown of Keeseville, NY, ceased to exist. The village had voted to dissolve into the two surrounding towns of AuSable and Chesterfield. At the time, that was the craziest thing I had ever heard. Looking back, it's sort of like the UK voting to leave the EU. My guest is Dale Holderman was elected mayor of Keeseville, NY in 2012. Dale was the last mayor of Keeseville and was tasked with preparing the village for dissolution shortly after his election. Keeseville is a village in northeastern New York State. Its population is about 1800. The former village now hamlet has a pretty high poverty rate and very low demographic diversity.
