You want to STOP doing this or that - over drinking, over eating, under-exercising, whatever. And you tell yourself that you really need to stop . . . but despite the logic, you find yourself going directly against that logic. There is a really good reason why the brain does this, and a really "simple" way to fix it. And using the example of drinking a little too much - or more than you'd like - is a great place to illustrate it.
