On May 1, 2019, Rumi Forum held an event about the diversity of the Muslim American community and their various situations. Muslims make up about 1% of the American public, but there are also many Americans who have a connection to Islam but do not personally identify as Muslim. This presentation discussed which Americans are most likely to personally know someone who is Muslim, intermarried couples, people who were raised Muslim but no longer identify, and people who identify as Muslim but say religion is not very important to them.
