Director Jeremy Saulnier is on the podcast! His latest film, Green Room, revolves around a young punk band called The Ain’t Rights, who play playing the wrong bar on tour one night, and end up in a bloody standoff with a group on Nazi skinheads, led by none other than Patrick Stewart. It’s an incredibly tense and violent film, and one of the most visceral theatrical experiences I’ve had in a very long time. I watch a lot of intense genre movies, but there were definitely sequences in Green Room I could not believe I was seeing in a mainstream thriller. We discuss his background in punk and hardcore, what attracted Patrick Stewart to the role, his relationship to violence in his films, and much more.  Green Room is in theatres now, and hits Blu-ray and DVD on July 12.
