In the week since George Floyd’s tragic death our nation has been thrown into chaos. And there seems to be no end to the violence in sight. This week we ask ourselves what our responsibility is as Jesus’ family in our current cultural moment. How do we respond to what we are seeing and experiencing? What must we start doing and what must we no longer do? And how can we bring the light of our good works into this dark situation? The answer to those questions and more is to put our hands to Jesus’ plow and to never look back, no matter what it costs us; and to summon all people —regardless of the color of their skin— to repentance and submission to King Jesus and his offer of grace. This is a stand-alone teaching.
