Episode 10: Bill 148 & Bill 47 Understanding the Changes to Labour and Employment Law in Ontario

Informações:

Synopsis

The Ford government’s newly passed Making Ontario Open for Business Act repeals a substantial number of amendments made by Bill 148, the Fair Workplaces, Better Jobs Act, 2017. The repeal of Bill 148 was supported by employers province-wide, the Ontario Chamber of Commerce, and us here at CCPartners. The new legislation is good news for employers as many of the most onerous provisions of Bill 148 have been repealed, including the Personal Emergency Leave reforms, minimum wage increases, and the scheduling provisions previously set to come into force on January 1, 2019. Listen to Susan Crawford and Mike MacLellan explain what these changes mean for employers in Ontario. Nothing in this podcast constitutes legal advice. 2:00 - What was the effect of Bill 148?
