Isaiah 49:13 says, "Sing for joy, O heavens, and exult, O earth; break forth, O mountains, into singing! For the LORD has comforted his people and will have compassion on his afflicted." However, v.14 says, "But Zion said, 'The LORD has forsaken me; my Lord has forgotten me.'" Wow...quite a shift in perspective. Israel felt like God had left them when they needed Him the most. But there was one thing that Israel needed to do: Wait patiently. Waiting is something none of us enjoy doing, and this is especially true when we are in pain or afraid.
