Synopsis

Bishop Mayfield was born in Harlem, New York right after WWII where he would experience some of the same intolerance and racism still strong in American culture today. Raised by foster parents and leaving home at fifteen, Bishop would take his inspired experiences of sneaking into the Apollo Theater to fuel his love of music. After meeting Buddy Miles and seeing Jimi Hendrix live a few times, Bishop would seek out his own signature music career that would take him from playing in the clubs of New York to Canada then West to Los Angeles, San Francisco and Monterey where he would find his people at the Monterey Bay Blues Festival. After reestablishing a connection to his former wife, Bishop would finally put down roots and settle in Southern Oregon where he's been for over a decade.
