Yemisrach Melton has lived in two different worlds. Though she was raised on a farm in rural Montana, where the air was fresh and the stars were radiant, this was not her first home. We had both earned a spot on this adventure by winning Sisterhood Magazine's (formerly known as Brio Magazine) "Faith in the Wait" essay contest.I will never forget talking to Yemi for the first time, using my parent's landline, and listening to her story of rescue and redemption. She was only ten years old when she left Ethiopia and was adopted by a family in the United States.
