This passage of scripture is usually pulled out to teach about tithing and how we as followers of Jesus are to tithe more. But when we actually look at this passage and keep it in the historical context, we see God challenging us to test Him to see if He really is a faithful God. How do we do this? By walking in obedience to Him.
