Eventually, she realized that the field, and academia itself, were not the profession she wanted to pursue. Leaving behind years of work without reaping the reward, she pursued a career in software engineering, landing roles as a test engineer in robotics and commercial cryptography, and then a senior engineering role at Bloomberg, where she is now an SRE.
