James was born in Corinth, Mississippi February 19, 1954, a city steeped in Civil War history, from the Battle of Shiloh a few miles away, to the Battle of Corinth at Fort Robinette, part of which is in his parents' back yard. His love for history developed at an early age and has stayed with him, using historical events as ideas for his stories, often disguised by his imagination. James is a prolific author of several dozen short stories of horror and history, and about a dozen completed books just since 2004.
