Ever heard of the saying by the philosopher Plato, “ignorance, the stem and root of all evil”? But first, we have to differentiate ignorance from stupidity. We should not attribute to malice what is perfectly explained by stupidity. Ignorance is a conscious choice, and it stems from an individual's mindset.This can be explained by our willingness to cling to certain viewpoints, or our inability to move away from them. When combined with power, ignorance has the ability to generate social phenomena such as nationalism.
