It seems like in this world if we are feeling any kind of discomfort our first reaction is to numb it.  This goes for both emotional and physical discomfort.  However most of our discomforts are symptoms and our symptoms are our bodies way of communicating with us.  So when we numb our symptoms, we are numbing the messengers.  This can cause bigger problems in the future!
