Welcome, welcome, welcome, to the final Nerds Without Pants of 2017! We’re coming at you a bit late, but hopefully early enough for us to accompany you on any holiday traveling you’re about to do. So grab some nog and take your pants off, because it’s time for our annual look at the state of the gaming generation! We kick things off by talking about our feelings on the generation as a whole, before delving into discussions on Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo. Fear not, we get derailed often, as we chat about lower difficulty settings, the sweet spot for shooters, and various asides on current games we’re playing. Next, we go deep on some of the big stories of this year in gaming, namely the loot box controversy and the predicted “death” of single player games.
