Dana invented #DIYPS, the "do it yourself pancreas system", in Nov. 2013 and in Dec. 2014 her and her now husband "closed the loop" and turned #DIYPS into a fully functioning artificial pancreas. In Feb. 2015 she founded the #OpenAPS movement, an open and transparent effort to make safe and effective basic Artificial Pancreas System technology widely available to more quickly improve and save as many lives as possible and reduce the burden of Type 1 diabetes.
