Have you ever had a door slammed in your face? The church in Philadelphia knew that feeling all too well. They were small in number, persecuted, and rejected—kicked out of synagogues for their faith in Jesus. But in Revelation 3:7-13, Jesus gives them incredible encouragement: “I have placed before you an open door that no one can shut.”Philadelphia was a faithful church. Even though they had little strength, they refused to deny Jesus’ name. They didn’t compromise with culture or waver in their faith. Jesus had no rebuke for them—only praise!
