THE MASTER'S APPRENTICE IS HELPING KIDS GET INTO CONSTRUCTION The Master's Apprentice, which recently received nearly $1 million from the Lowe's Foundation, is on today. That very generous grant to help disadvantaged young adults find a career in the construction trades is helping the program grow. The organization was founded by Coloradans Luis Villarreal and Scott Flores more than a decade ago. There is an acute skilled trades workforce crisis in the US, with the Associated Builders and Contractors estimating that 501,000 new skilled tradespeople will be needed on top of the normal pace of hiring to meet demand this year alone.
