After Paul established God's sovereignty and choice to offer salvation freely by grace, in this chapter Paul focuses on man's responsibility to respond to the Gospel by faith in Jesus to receive salvation. Though Israel had rejected Jesus God had not cast them off, but as Paul proved by being born again God has reserved for Himself a remnant who will remain faithful to Him.
