Jesus shared the parable of the Sower and the Soil. Parables are used to “reveal” and “conceal”. Only those with eyes to see and ears to hear would benefit from its message. He warned that the birds (AKA the devil, the Evil One, Satan) would come to try and snatch, eat up, and take away the life-giving Word of God. The nature of the soil plays a pivotal role in the yield of the harvest. Without care, the seed can be lost. Satan is patient, waiting for the right moment.
