The Gospel of John 15-21 Part 7 – The Elephant in the Room By Louie Marsh, 5-29-2023   1) Jesus GOES THERE.   If you say there is an elephant in the room, you mean that there is an obvious problem or difficult situation that people do not want to talk about. -  The Cambridge Dictionary   “15When they had finished breakfast, Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these? … (John 21:15a, ESV)   ·       He fully exposes Peter’s SINS.   “33Peter answered him, “Though they all fall away because of you, I will never fall away.”” (Matthew 26:33, ESV)   ·       Jesus does this because it’s what everyone NEEDS.   Jesus doesn’t leave elephants in the room, like most of us do and all of us wish, at times, that he would.   2) Jesus calls Peter to a HIGHER love.   “15…Jesus said to Simon Peter, “Simon, son of John, do you love me more than these?” He said to him, “Yes, Lord; you know that I love you.” He said to him, “Feed my lambs.”” (John 21:15, ESV)   Jesus love is – agape.
