Do you not know that I have authority to release you and authority to crucify you?” 11Jesus answered him, “You would have no authority over me at all unless it had been given you from above. Therefore he who delivered me over to you has the greater sin.”” (John 19:9–11, ESV)   ·       He REJECTED worldly claims of authority over him.   “49And he said to them, “Why were you looking for me? Did you not know that I must be in my Father’s house?”” (Luke 2:49, ESV)   ·       He AFFIRMED that God is always & only in control.     ·       He SUBMITTED  himself to that authority regardless of the cost.   “8Although he was a son, he learned obedience through what he suffered.
