The ChurchMatthew 16:13-20Our faith is based on the divine claims of Christ.36 “Therefore let all Israel be assured of this: God has made this Jesus, whom you crucified, both Lord and Messiah.” 37 When the people heard this, they were cut to the heart and said to Peter and the other apostles, “Brothers, what shall we do?” 38 Peter replied, “Repent and be baptized, every one of you, in the name of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins. And you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.” Acts 2Our church is built by Jesus.1 Peter 2 5 you also, like living stones, are being built into a spiritual house[a] to be a holy priesthood, offering spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ 6 For in Scripture it says:“See, I lay a stone in Zion,    a chosen and precious cornerstone,and the one who trusts in him    will never be put to shame.”[b]Our enemy is already defeated by Jesus. Romans 8 No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.
