My life was filled with Sunday dinners at my grandparent's farm, surrounded by aunts, uncles, and cousins, and monthly trips to my family's cabin nestled in the beautiful mountains of Colorado. I felt surrounded by love and nurturing. Life was good! That beautiful, golden childhood was shattered one fateful night when my father told my mother he was in love with another woman and leaving her. They had been married for eighteen years. I had never even seen them argue. My entire world fell apart. With my family broken and feeling very alone, the heartache and negative messages I experienced in the years to follow, left me doubting my self worth, feeling unlovable, an
