Episode 169 Shane Helm has been a web designer for almost 20 years. He has seen the industry change and been able to stay in the game by being flexible, easy to work with, learning the language, pushing design boundaries, and understanding the value of good design. Shane has worked for brands like ESPN, Dave Ramsey, and Engage. He has worked full time and run a successful freelance business at the same time. Shane is one of the most talented and humble people I know. I am amazed at how big his heart is for helping others and am blessed to be in his space.

Aired January 20, 2016. Episode 155. Mike Jones has a heart to help people. He has spent his career hugging necks and making incredible logos while helping businesses perfect their visual message. But for Mike that wasn’t enough, he wanted to create a conference that was affordable and had a home-town feel right in the heart of Georgia. Creative South was built in a coffee shop by two friends. Others heard or overheard and offered to help, and a design community was built. Honestly for me this is the best design conference to go to. The feel of anyone can join you for a meal, conversations are not closed, people are real, and the learning is impactful, inspirational, and motivating. So this week we will dig in a little about Creative South but ask Mike how he manages being a dad to four kids, a husband to Karen, friends to so many, and designer all at the same time.
