I first met Jason back in 2013. I can't believe it has been ten years!!! If you aren't familiar with Jason's work it is AMAZING. He takes vintage lettering to another level. He has worked on movie props, brands, signage, packaging, and so much more. I am also always amazed because he does this by hand. He has a love for antiques and seems to be able to draw out the stories that are hidden in these old pieces of ephemera. He has multiple streams of income and has gone through a lot over the years. I am excited to catch up and see what wisdom he has to share. He is also a type designer and has created many typefaces. THEY ARE INCREDIBLE TOO!!! Jason has had made lots of letters since we last spoke in 2020. _________

But as we go further in our career we need to learn more and push outside of the safety bounds and explore. Bethany is an excellent leader for the exploration and research of typography. How people have used it to play, to communicate better, and to push boundaries. I think about things she has taught me daily. I am super happy to welcome back Bethany! Heck Yeah! He is always pioneering new techniques and new technologies. He has been using AI (Artificial Intelligence) for years. He started making images before anyone else I knew was doing it. He has also figured out ways to use text and visual based AI to get the results he desires. This might scare you. As I write this there is a writers strike happening in America in the entertainment industry. Some of the writer's demands have to do with AI and how it is used in the industry. There are a lot of ways AI will be useful to us. There are some jobs that AI will render obsolete. As we continue to advance do you find yourself embracing new technologies or resisting? I hope it

She has had some big shifts in her teaching and her art licensing that we'll talk about. Amarilys is inspiring to me for many reasons, here are five: 1. Her faith is at the center of her work. 2. She is always trying something new. 3. She has multiple income streams. 4. She doesn't give up. She is exploring and experimenting. 5. She shares what she knows, free

    29/01/2023 Duration: 53min

Find full show notes at: https://creativesignite.com/the-lies-i-need-to-stop-telling-myself/ I often tell myself things I should be doing, or things I should be improving, or things I should be learning. But there are only 24 hours in everyday and we are supposed to sleep for one third of those hours. I am teaching a class about self promotion on social media. In class I asked the students how they use social media. Most stated that they consume but rarely share. If they do share it is not their design work. They said they were scattered and weren't sure what to post. One student said he posts things he is proud of. And I thought afterwards, if I waited until I was proud of something I would never post either. Social Media and self promotion like any campaign should be planned. UH OH there I go shoulding again. The question is how do I share what I am learning and not feel like a fraud or an imposter. If I tell myself I will start sharing when I don't feel like an imposter, I will probably never sta
