Ben and Kayla quickly review the latest going-ons of the Trump administration, including the controversial resignation of Michael Flynn. Kayla then sits down with Stanford Law School professor Michele Dauber for a comprehensive discussion on the history and future of sexual assault policy here at Stanford. Professor Dauber is a nationally recognized advocate for improving college and university policies on sexual assault in order to increase compliance with Title IX.

Maddie and Lucas provide a brief update on the status of the Trump administration, including the executive order on immigration from seven muslim-majority countries, and then go on to discuss the protests of Milo Yiannopoulos at Berkeley as well as some campus news. Also, SPJ's chief of staff, Micaela Suminksi, interviews Michael Tubbs, a Stanford alumnus and the youngest ever Mayor of Stockton, CA, who offers his thoughts on the power of local politics in the age of Trump.

Lucas, Ben, and Maddie provide a rundown of Trump's recent executive actions, some commentary on political strategy for both the Republican and Democratic parties, and a brief update on some campus news. Ben and Lucas discuss Trump's inaugural address and break down the current partisan make up of Washington. Lucas then interviews Stanford student Jay Reader who voted for Trump to ask him about how he came to that decision as well as his opinions of campus' reactions to the election.

Aakash, Kayla, and Lucas wrap up 2016 with a discussion on what has proven to be a tumultuous 2 weeks at Stanford and in the world. First, they analyze the Stanford administration's decision to ban the Leland Stanford Junior University Marching Band for the rest of the school year, and then briefly discuss the controversy regarding the University's handling of recent sexual assault cases. They then transition to conversations on the tragedies in Aleppo, today's Electoral College vote, and Trump's recent cabinet picks.

Ben, Kayla, and Lucas discuss the coming together or the Trump administration, the death of Fidel Castro, and the recent "People's Walkout" that occurred at Stanford. Aakash then sits down with Ralph Castro (Associate Dean of Students and Director of the Office of Alcohol Policy and Education at Stanford) and Michael Kim (current RA in Sigma Nu, former RA of freshmen dorm Otero, and leader of the ASSU Executive's Committee on Social Life).

In the first episode of season 2 of The Axe and Politics, Kayla, Lucas, and Aakash give a quick recap of the 2016 presidential election and the appointment of Stanford's new provost Persis Drell. Ben then sits down with David Crane, a former special advisor to former California Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger, to discuss California's ballot propositions and state legislature.
