  • Episode 43 - Comic Event Fatigue

    10/01/2017 Duration: 01h22min

In this week's episode, its the first official podcast of the year as the Z2 gang are down a member this week, looks like we have a throwback to the original two Zach's this week! We start off this week with a good ol parody article about a comic fan unicorn who likes DC and Marvel equally, and then we talk about some actual Marvel news involving another event coming. With so many Marvel events recently we're starting to feel the fatigue with all of the events from Marvel. How are you, the listener feeling about Marvel as of late? We then talk about how Hugh Jackman may not actually be done with playing Wolverine, as he's "hesitating" from stepping away from the role. Will he be done with the character? Only time will tell. In DC news this week, we got the official word that Matt Ryan will be playing Constantine on the upcoming CW Seed Constantine animated series, which is super exciting. There was also the report of Ben Affleck stating that he will not work on The Batman project if it doesn't come

  • Episode 42 - The 2016 End of Year Wrap Up Show

    03/01/2017 Duration: 03h18min

In this week's episode, the Z2 Gang brings you their favorite and most disappointing piece of content from the past year. We run down all of our favorite games, movies, comic books, and the biggest disappointment we experienced this past year. We also have two round table discussions this week, the first one we talk about the excellent HBO series Westworld with Kayla of Galatea Cosplay in which we discuss the elements of the story we enjoyed, theories we have for the second season, and our favorite characters of the series. Our second round table discussion is for Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, where we bring in our friend of the show and Star Wars expert Rachel of Rachel Beenken Illustration and Design and we talk about our favorite things from the movie, and potential other side stories that we would like to see in the Star Wars universe. As always, if you like what you hear and want to help the show you can do so by leaving us a rating, or sharing this show to a friend who would like our content. You can al

  • Episode 41 - How to Break Zach in 160 minutes or less

    27/12/2016 Duration: 01h45min

In this week's episode, the Z2 gang finds a way to break Zach by talking about Power Rangers for 20 minutes. Okay maybe it wasn't 20 minutes but it felt like an eternity, and you can probably pinpoint the moment where Zach breaks. Aside from that we go through some movie announcements such as that there is going to be an Expendables 4 with more aging action stars, and along with that we got the Blade Runner 2049 trailer that dropped with an old as hell Harrison Ford. Along with these announcements, Blizzard revealed the first LGBT+ character in the Overwatch universe which is Tracer! We talk about what it means for the Overwatch universe and how cool that they are adding these pieces of the lore through the comics series and animation shorts. Our main discussion topic for the week is with the rise of the Star Wars anthology movies, do we need a side story to tie back to the main story line in order to succeed? If you like what you hear and want to support the podcast you can do so by following us on Facebook

  • Episode 40.5 - One of us is the Krampus (Christmas Werewolves)

    25/12/2016 Duration: 53min

In this special Christmas episode of the Z2 podcast, the gang brings in several of their friends to join them in a special addition of the game Werewolves! In our version instead of the villagers and werewolves we have a Krampus coming to seek out his elf victims in Santas workshop and ruin Christmas. Will they figure out who the Krampus is and save Christmas? or will Krampus succeed in ruining Christmas. Find out on this holly jolly episode of the Z2 podcast.

  • Episode 40 - What are we? Some Kind of Rogue Squadron?

    20/12/2016 Duration: 01h41min

In this week's episode, the Z2 doesn't talk about Rogue One even though we all saw it as we are going to save that discussion for a later episode. However, we do talk about things that lead into Rogue One, such as Star Wars: Rebels which will have Saw Guerrera return for an episode which explains some things about his character in the movie. We talk about some exciting DC movie news as Ocean Master has been cast for the Aquaman movie, Gotham City Sirens is a go, and The Batman is confirmed for 2018. We keep the news segment short this week in order for Zach to talk about Chronicle since he's on a Max Landis high as of late, and he talks about the leaked script for Chronicle 2 that may have happened if things hadn't gone south for Max Landis and Josh Trank. We also have Z2 Comic Book Book Club this week, after finally getting around to reading We 3 by Grant Morrison and illustrated by Frank Quietly. We give our thoughts on this very brutal and heartbreaking story about good dogs, how we view animals as a socie

  • Episode 39 - We need more trailers of SPIDERMAN

    13/12/2016 Duration: 01h58min

In this week's episode, the Z2 gang discusses the brand new SPIDERMAN trailer and how it appears to be combining elements of the ultimate universe with the mainstream MCU. We also got the trailer goodness that was the Guardians of the Galaxy vol 2 trailer, with adorably deadly Baby Groot and the appearance of Mantis, which Zach was very excited about. We also talk about how busy JJ Abrams is with Westworld, and a ton of other projects that he is apart of and how cool some of these new projects could be when they come out. Then in spoiler talk, Zach and Steve discuss all of the CW midseason finales, how they've been vastly better than a lot of last seasons shows, looking at you Arrow season 4, and what they could be setting up for the second half of the shows seasons. Our main discussion question this week has to do with superhero movies and how they seem to be taking over the mainstream genre movie, such as how Spiderman appears to be a coming of age teen drama, Captain America is an espionage movie, Ant-Man

  • Episode 38 - Jesus and Frank in the Sandbox

    06/12/2016 Duration: 02h41min

In this week's episode, the Z2 gang talks about how Final Fantasy XV has taken over their lives, and it probably will be that way for a few weeks. We also talk about how actors are campaigning to play super hero roles, lots of hints of new DC projects with the possibility of Scott Synder and Greg Capullo's reunion on the horizon, and all the new X-men titles that are coming out for the ResurreXion event. In other exciting news, Marvel vs Capcom: Infinite was announced this past week at Playstation Experience, which is a bit shocking since it was rumored to be dead in the water with the Fox and Marvel feud over the X-Men rights. Our discussion topic for this week is a character we would like to see get a book that we consider underrated or a non -traditional hero. This week we also got the chance to sit down with the guys from The Adventures of Jesus and Frankenstein , Joe Vallen (Writer) and Andrew Glassman (Illustrator), and talk about what inspired them to start this project, how they came together to creat

  • Episode 37 - Finally Final Fantasy XV

    29/11/2016 Duration: 01h56min

In this week's episode, we keep things a bit shorter as not a ton of news came out this week. We talk about how Zendaya may or may not be playing Mary Jane in Spider-man Homecoming, and Emilia Clarke will be playing a character in the Han Solo movie. Then Zach and Steve have a beef with Tony Stark as he messed things up in Civil War II #7 this past week. After we cool off, we talk about the fate of Cyclops in Death of X, since that was finally revealed after a lot of speculation from us of the fate of Scott Summers. Our discussion topic for the week is our favorite video game narratives in honor of Final Fantasy XV finally coming out after something like 10 years of development, which is kind of surreal. As always, you can follow us on Facebook and twitter both @z2podcast and be sure to leave us either a comment, review or rating so we can know what you like about the show, what you hate, or what you'd like to hear from us. #PodernFamily #Z2 Intro Music by: MDK Song Title: Press Start http://www.facebook.com/

For our regular portion of the show we talk about the new trailers that dropped for Justice League Dark, A Series of Unfortunate, and for Rooster Teeth's new documentary called The Meme Machine. We also got the news that the series Rat Queens is coming back in March 2017, which is exciting since it was put into limbo after the artist had to leave the series when it restarted back earlier this year. This week since were all still on the anime train, we talk about more anime series! Zach B talks about "Gangsta", Zach S talks about "Kids on a Slope", and Steve talks about "Drifters" this week! We then have our roundtable d

  • Episode 35 - The Dark Weeb Rises

    15/11/2016 Duration: 02h51min

In this week's episode, the Z2 crew rejoices in the news that Young Justice will be getting a season 3 after ending back in 2013. It's legit, it's real, it's not a prank and it has been officially confirmed by Greg Weissman and WB. We talk about what we want out of the show once it returns and where we think it will be headed if it continues the same story line it left off on. We also discuss some news of how All Star Batman will be continuing on for some time with several different story arcs in the works from Scott Synder. We then have a miss mash or news with DC and Marvel tv and movie news, such as news on the Batman solo movie, what the next X-Men movie could be, and a new CW magical crime drama in the works. We also call out Frank Cho and the weird things he's been doing such as claiming that he was going to take over Wonder Woman once Greg Rucka was gone, when he won't be as of now. I don't know, its weird. Are big discussion points for this week are all sorts of anime topics. First, we discuss what we

    08/11/2016 Duration: 02h21min

In this week's episode, we discuss all things going on in the world of video games and comic books. We first start off with what we think of RL Stine writing a Marvel comic, and then move into the possible reasons that Rick Famuyima left The Flash as the director after creative differences. We then talk about people leaving The Sandman movie after creative differences as well and what the fate of that movie could be now that a lot of the big names such as Joseph Gordon-Levitt have left the project. After discusses some dumb rumors regarding The Batman movie, we talk about the trailers for Wonder Woman, Lego Batman, and the Netflix Series of Unfortunate Events series. After a lot of ranting from Zach, we move into our main discussion point for the week, which is generally hated characters that love. • Episode 32 - The Wasp Incident

    25/10/2016 Duration: 01h49min

In this week's episode, we fight a wasp/bug/whatever the hell thing it was. Seriously, we have no idea what invaded the podcast this week. We do however discuss all sorts of X-Men news that came out, as Marvel announced several new X-Men titles, which will probably all be written by Jeff Lemire and Charles Soule, since no creative teams have been announced and those two are the writers for the whole ResurrXion event. There were also new trailers for Logan, which looks like an Old Man Logan-esque story, as well as a trailer for Guardians of Galaxy Vol. 2. After some controversy talk, we talk about our favorite anime series and what we like about them so much. Finally, in this months edition of comic book book club, we talk about Nod Away , written and illustrated by Joshua Cotter. Zach also saw “The Accountant” this weekend and gives us his thoughts on it. Our discussion topics for this week is “Who deserves a lantern ring?” and “The State of the CW Universe”, in which we talk about which characters, Marvel or DC we think would get a lantern ring, no matter the color, and what we think about the overall state of the CW universe with the addition of Supergirl and lowered ratings for Flash and Arrow. 30/09/2016 Duration: 01h14min

Seriously reading the article of the PR person from Whataburger makes the whole thing seem like an onion article. There were also a couple movie related pieces of news such as the Batman movie not coming out for at least a year and a half, which does give them time about choosing a Robin to use in the movie, maybe Jason Todd? Maybe Tim Drake? There was also the news of Mark Millar wanting one man to fill the role in his Superior movie. As always you can follow us on Facebook and twitter @z2podcast, and if you want to help us out, you can do that by feeling us a rating/review on Itunes, Google Play, or Stitcher Radio.
