An Unlikely King: Trustworthy
10/04/2016 Duration: 30minMatthew 9:18-38 | Michael Roop We’ve seen that Jesus came to earth to bring good news of great joy for all people - establishing an upside-down kingdom where those who mourn, and those who are meek, and and those who are poor in spirit are called “blessed”. As we've listened to Jesus’s words, we've come to understand that the heart of the matter is always a matter of the heart - that who we are is much more important than what we do, and that ultimately God wants to remodel our lives completely our lives all the way down to their foundations. Now, we're beginning to realize that this upside-down kingdom has an unlikely king - a king who doesn’t quite resemble our usual expectations of what a leader does or how a leader acts. A king, who though he doesn't look like a king, has more power and authority than any king who's ever lived and any leader who might rise to power.
