The Red Zone Sports Report is a LIVE sports talk show on Tuesday evenings during football season at 8:30 PM ET. Join host Chip Lake, with co-hosts Pete Tasca - the Buffalo Bad Boy, Steve Butler - The Savage Burn, Kip Keefer - College Football Guru, and Matt Metcalf - our token Tar Heel, on Tuesday evenings during football season at 8:30 PM ET! We do football and we also have a Kentucky Derby Preview show every year! We have tons of fun, fight like cats and dogs, and leave everything on the table!

  • 31 - NFL DRAFT review, Kentucky Derby Preview

    In this week's edition of the Red Zone Sports Report we will be with you for a full two hours! In the first hour we will recap all of the activity surrounding the NFL Draft. We'll be joined by the Savage Burn Steve Butler as well as the Red Zone's version of Matty Ice, Mr. Matt Metcalf. Which team had the best draft? Which team reached? Who is most likely to be 2017 ROY? Who is Mr. Irrelevent? In our second segment, we'll be joined, as always, by Mr. Kip Keefer. Kip is the Executive Director of the Alabama Racing Commission. Kip and I will be joined by Horse Racing expert Amy Steinman Smith and we will preview this years Kentucky Derby. Nyquist opens the lines as an early favorite. Is this horse for real? Is it possible that a favorite might win the Derby for the 4th straight year? How many horses will post? Sleepers?     In this week's show we'll dive into this years wild Masters Tournament. Jordan Spieth breaks a record of seven (7) straight days as leader of the Masters only to collapse on the Back 9 on Sunday.  We'll talk about Smylie Kaufman's journey into the final pairing on Sunday. Bernhard Langer, at 59 years old, placed in the second to last group. Finally, we'll look at Masters Champion Danny Willett. Who is he? Where did he come from? We'll look at how quickly he rose in the World Rankings even before the Masters began. In our second segment we'll talk a little NBA Playoffs and look at Golden State's quest to break the Chicago Bulls record of 73 regular season wins. We'll wrap up tonight's show talking about the hapless Atlanta Braves.

We'll talk Adam LaRoche and his sudden retirement from baseball after White Sox VP Kenny Williams instructs him to restrict his sons access to the teams Spring Training facilities. In a huge motorsports weekend for Atlanta the Monster Energy Supercross also visits the Georgia Dome on Saturday night as Ryan Dungy looks to hold his lead in the 450 class and the 250 East Class will make their second start of the season. In the second segment we'll be joined by the "Savage Burn" Steve Butler and Birmingham's own Kip Keefer to discuss everything NBA and preview the conference college basketball tournaments.     We'll begin this week's show with our special guest, Buddy Curry. Buddy was an All-American LB for UNC and was a 2nd round pick in 1980 of the Atlanta Falcons. In 1983, Buddy recorded 229 tackles and is still the all time season leader for the Falcons in that statistic. Buddy will share his insights on this years NFL campaign and also talk to us about his group Kids & Pros, founded with his former teammate Bobby Butler to teach kids proper football technique and life skills. We'll then transition in the second segment to discuss a busy week in college football with our college football guru Kip Keefer.
