The Red Light Sports Network (RLSN) is dedicated to bringing accurate and reliable information to the listeners. With the ever expanding world of technology; RLSN will interact with listeners with the most efficient means of social media. RLSN will produce the highest quality product, while establishing long lasting relationships with other media sources and professional organizations. All sports; regardless of level, will receive the same professionalism and opportunity to receive coverage on RLSN. Representatives of RLSN will adhere to the highest standard of ethics when reporting on sporting events within their community. RLSN believes that supporting local and national organizations/ programs is a way to give back to the communities in which our listeners reside.

    All NFL teams must reduce their roster to 75 active players, by Septmeber 1st, before 4 p.m. ET. The Green Bay Packers have finished game one, of the preseason defeating the New England Patriots 22-11.  Wins and loses don't mean much in the preseason.  This is a time for players to impress the coaching staff, and have a spot on the final roster.  Each game is an opportunity to take practice time, and put it in live action against another team. Tonight, Michal Cohen; of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, joins the show.  Cohen is the newest Packers team reporter, and has been covering training camp.  The biggest question that will be answered is "How does the Green Bay secondary look?" We will also ask Cohen who has been his biggest surprise and disappointment, thus far in camp.  Injuries can derail a season, so we will get the latest injury update, and see if there should be any concern moving forward.     The NFL preseason has started, which is overshadowing the excitment going on in Major League Baseball.  The Toronto Blue Jays have won 11 games in row, and have a 1/2 game lead on the New York Yankees.  The two teams square off for a series this weekend.  This is as close to playoff baseball that your going to get, in August.  The St. Louis Cardinals won a recent series against the Pittsburgh Pirates, increasing their NL Central lead to six games.  Do the Pirates have enough to catch the Cardinals?  The New York Mets have quietly gone 8-2 in their last 10 games, while the Washington Nationals have dropped three games, in a row.  What do the Mets need to do to hold of the Nationals?  Listen in and call the show with your thoughts.

    It is not the regular season, but week one of the preseason still has some meaning.  Many of the veterans have been in this situation before, and we are trying to figure out how long the starters will play.  For others, it is the start of a four week battle to try and make the team.  Every team has some very important position battles, so these games have meaning.  The Green Bay Packers are set offensively, but have some questions to answer, in the secondary.  The New England Patriots need to prepare Jimmy Garoppolo, if Tom Brady is still suspended.  We will answer these questions and update you on any breaking news and stories from tonights pre-season games.

    Women's professional football will have a new member, in 2016.  The Woodlands Wildcats will join the league, for their inagural season.  With a new team comes a new coach.  Laura Cantu, was named Vice President and Head Coach, on August 10, 2015.  Tonight we will talk to Laura about taking on the venture of starting an expansion team. Laura has been involved in professional sports since 2003.  She was the quarterback of the Houston Energy from 2003 until this past season.  In between her playing career, she was a marketing associate with the Houston Rockets.  Along with having marketing roles, in the NFL.  She worked with the Kansas City Chiefs, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Houston Texans.  Before assuming her new role, she has served as a marketing assistant for the Houston Dynamo, of the MLS. Listen in as Laura talks about her new role as Vice President and Head Coach, of the Woodlands Wildcats.

    Logan Thimons was named to the PA pre-season All-State team.  He is a senior at Freeport Area High School, and is looking forward to continuing his career in college.  At 6-1, 220 this outside linebacker has committed to playing at West Virginia.  After last season, Thimons came on The Red Light Sports Network and talked about his commitment to West Virginia, and his plans to enroll, in the spring semester.  We will talk to him about how he has prepared for the upcoming season.  We will get his thoughts about the team expectations, and what it is like to play and prepare knowing that he has a home, after high school.     Something new for the 2015 NFL season, and athletic trainer in the press box.  The NFL has been dealing with a concussion issue, for years.  Each year, the competition committee reviews ways to improve player safety.  Currently, if a player is suspected of having a concussion, they will be put through a series of concussion tests.  If the player passes, they can return to game action.  Should they not pass, they are restricted from returning.   What if a player takes a hit and tries to play without leaving the game?  AKA, Julian Edelman taking a vicious hit in Super Bowl 49, and continued playing.  With the new rule the athletic trainier in the press box can alert the side judge.  When the official is contacted, the game will be stopped and the player will have to receive medical treatment.  This is a medical call to the human eye, not a choice by either team.     In August, every team has hopes of reaching the Super Bowl.  However, the experts put a damper on those hopes.  The USA Today published their 2015 NFL predictions.  Tonight, we will take a closer look at this list.  The division winners are: Philadelphia Eagles, Green Bay Packers, Carolina Panthers, Seattle Seahawks, New England Patriots, Baltimore Ravens, Indianapolis Colts, and Denver Broncos.  Do you agree or disagree with this list?  The AFC wildcard teams are the Miami Dolphins and Buffalo Bills.  With those predictions, they have three teams coming out of the AFC East.  The last time three teams; from the division, made the playoffs was 2001, when the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets qualified for the wild card.  The NFC wildcard teams are the St. Louis Rams and Minnesota Vikings. The Rams have not finished .500 or better since 2006, and have not made the playoffs since 2004.     Almost one year ago, TMZ released a video of Ray Rice knocking his fiance out, in an elevator.  This started a whirlwind effect.  The NFL stiffened their domestic abuse policy, and organizations such as NOMore.org started to gain recognition.  Rice was released by the Baltimore Ravens and suspended by the NFL.  He has served his suspension, and is free to sign with any team. However, no teams have offered the former NFL star a contract.  Do you think that he deserves a second chance?  In perspective, Greg Hardy was signed by the Dallas Cowboys.  He was convicted for assualt. When the prosecutor failed to reach the woman, the case was dismissed in Hardy's favor.  So Rice and Hardy are in the same situation.  It is clear that both committed domestic violence acts, and their charges have been dismissed.  The only difference, Hardy is working and Rice is waiting for a call. The USA today published their 2015 NFL predictions for every team.  They predicted a Green Bay Packers vs. Indianapolis Colts Super Bowl.  T

    The Green Bay Packers always seem to find a gem at wide receiver.  This year they drafted Stanford wide receiver Ty Montgomery, in the third round.  Ted Thompson has always operated the draft by taking the best player available.  Some questioned a wide receiver, with the glaring needs on defense.  With Jordy Nelson and Randall Cobb locked up long term; and the emergence of DaVante Adams, the Packers were only one injury away from having a depleted receiving unit.  With the early success of Montgomery, there has been talk about the Packers carrying six receivers, into the regular season. Jordy Nelson said, "Taking away the athletic part of it, just his approach to understanding our playbook, asking questions, trying to be detailed as much as possible in a short amount of time."     In this episode of The Red Light Sports Ramble, presented by The Red Light Sports Network, Evan Witalison and Troy Otradovec will wrap up the MLB trades.  It was another busy day in MLB, as the non-waiver trade deadline ended today.  The Milwaukee Brewers traded Gerardo Parra to the Balitimore Orioles.  A day after shipping Carlos Gomez and Mike Fiers to Houston for four propspects, the Brewers acquired another young right handed pitcher, Zach Davies.  The New York Mets did get an outfielder before the deadline.  The Detroit Tigers sent Yoenis Cespedes to the Mets for two right handed pitchers Michael Fulmer and Luis Cessa.  Now that the non-waiver trade deadline is over, we will let the dust settle and see how the players perform for their new teams.  What are your thoughts on all of the trades?     The whole nation saw Wilmer Flores cry, thinking that he had been traded to the Milwaukee Brewers, along with teammate Zack Wheeler. The Brewers and New York Mets had reached an agreement to trade Carlos Gomez for Flores and Wheeler.  However, after the Mets reviewed Gomez's medical record, they nixed the deal.  Citing medical reasons, Gomez was still a Brewer. Until Thursday night, when it was announced that the Brewers traded Gomez and pitcher Mike Fiers to the Houston Astros.  The Brewers will receive four prospects: outfielders Brett Phillips and Domingo Santana, left-hander Josh Hader and right-hander Adrian House.     The MLB trade deadline is fast approaching, and teams that have a legitimate chance; to make the playoffs, are trying to add pieces to their roster.  Since Monday, the two biggest names were Troy Tulowitzki and Jonathan Papelbon.  The Colorado Rockies decided to part ways with Tulowitzki.  The Toronto Blue Jays sent Jose Reyes and three minor league prospects, in return.  The Philadelphia Phillies traded away one of the leagues best closers in Jonathan Papelbon.  The Phillies received minor league player Nick Pivetta, from the Washington Nationals.  Do you think the Phillies got enough in return?  Listen in and call the show with your thoughts.

The biggest trade in MLB happened between the Colorado Rockies and Toronto Blue Jays.  The Rockies sent shortstop Troy Tulowitzki to the Blue Jays for Jose Reyes.  The Blue Jays are currently seven games behind the New York Yankees, in the American League East.  They are only three games behind the Minnesota Twins for the American League Wild Card. Did the Blue Jays really need to add a bat, or should they have sought some more pitching?     In this episode of The Red Light Sports Ramble, presented by The Red Light Sports Network, Evan Witalison and Troy Otradovec will take a look at some of the players suspended to start the 2015 NFL season.  Today, the NFL handed down a three game suspension for Green Bay Packers DT Letroy Guion.  He will appeal the suspension.  Guion joins a list of a number of players that will start the 2015 season on the suspended list. Tom Brady will also start the season on the suspended list. However, we don't know the number of games.  Originally, Brady was suspended four games for his part in Deflate Gate.  Brady appealed the suspension, but no verdict has been delivered by Roger Goodell.     In this episode of The Red Light Sports Ramble, presented by The Red Light Sports Ramble, Evan Witalison and Troy Otradovec will take a look back, at the weekend.  The biggest news in golf was Jordan Spieth, or the British Open that was being played. Spieth was trying to win the third major of the year, after winning the first two.  Spieth was near the top of the leader board, but missed the playoff by one stroke, ending his bid for the season grand slam.  At 39, Zach Johnson won his second career major.  He was part of a four hole playoff, with Louis Oosthuizen and Marc Leishman.  In MLB, we should be talking about trade rumors. However, on Sunday afternoon, Carlos Gomez slid hard into Jordy Mercer to break up a double play.  Mercer was carted off the field, leaving people wondering if this was a dirty play.  Do you think that the slide was dirty?  Listen in and call the show with your thoughts.
