My goal this week is to share with you the Catholic Church’s teaching on Revelation 13, the Mark of the Beast, 666, and the history of Rome as it relates to both topics. My goal this week is to look into a difficult topic. How do we have a supernatural response when someone hurts us? Some of us have been deeply wounded by friends, spouses, brothers and sisters, parents, even priests. Sometimes people wound you by accident. They never intended anything, but still you are walking around maimed. Today I’m going to share a true story that I hope inspires you to find hope in the hurt. My goal this week is to answer a question that I get pretty regularly: “Is Saint George still a saint?” Or “Is Saint Christopher still a saint?” Or “Is Saint Philomena still a saint?” As you know, these saints were removed from the liturgical calendar and so you quite often hear people claim that Saint George or Saint Christopher are no longer saints. We’re going to look at this question from a historical, liturgical and theological point of view. Oh, and don’t worry, I’ll definitely explain why George is depicted with a dragon and why would should take that seriously. So if you’ve wondered “What’s up that dragon?” this is the podcast for you. They do not make a decision? Moreover, one might say that Catholicism has so many nominal members precisely because of infant baptism. My goal this week is to encourage you to embrace essentialism. Essentialism is the art of disciplining your self to want less, use less, and do less. You know less is more. My friend Josh Simmons turned me on to Greg McKeown new book Essentialism: The Disciplined Pursuit of Less. The key is doing only a few really great things. Multitasking is the enemy.
